We had a couple accidents on the way down and ended up scratching the bikes we rented (expensive). The trip would have been way easier on ATVs. Once at the beach though it's SO beautiful. The snorkelling is amazing and you can snorkel out to a large rock out in the water that you can jump off of. Such a great afternoon. There's food (and beer) available at a few restaurants as well.

But please, be active for Menjangan Island because it is not a preserve area against the fishing (incredible because it is include in a national park) and it is a pity. The colors of the water is incredible, this blue can be seen in the picture but in natural it is breathtaking ! Fish fish and fish every where ! We went to two spots to snorkel with Fun and Fun. The first spot was very clear with lots of fish and coral. The second spot did not have as great clarity, nor as much coral. I have never snorkeled before, so I can't really compare this to anywhere else.

The next day we went to Biorock and snorkeled. Honestly, the Biorock was just as good - if not better for snorkeling. The coral was higher, so everything was closer to you, also there were way less people in the water. Biorock was also much cheaper (free). I loved Pemuteran, and I loved our hotel, but if I came here again I might just get a place on the beach and snorkel at Biorock.
